La diff\u00e9rence est que les VHR fonctionnent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 sur une courte distance avant de passer \u00e0 un mode hybride essence-\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, tandis que les VE fonctionnent exclusivement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>En fin de compte, l\u2019objectif est de parvenir \u00e0 aucune \u00e9mission de gaz d\u2019\u00e9chappement. Par cons\u00e9quent, bien que les VHR constituent, aujourd\u2019hui comme demain, une solution provisoire pr\u00e9cieuse, ils finiront par c\u00e9der la place aux v\u00e9hicules enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectriques. Si les deux mod\u00e8les partagent en grande partie la m\u00eame technologie sous le capot, la version hybride non\u00a0rechargeable utilise une batterie beaucoup plus petite, la moyenne \u00e9tant d\u2019environ 1,3\u00a0kilowatt\/heure. Ces batteries n\u2019ont en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 qu\u2019une puissance suffisante pour fournir une assistance \u00e9lectrique et tr\u00e8s peu, voire pas du tout, de conduite en mode enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectrique. Les v\u00e9hicules hybrides rechargeables, quant \u00e0 eux, utilisent une batterie beaucoup plus importante. Aujourd\u2019hui, la batterie d\u2019un VHR moyen homologu\u00e9e \u00e0 environ 15\u00a0kWh.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019essentiel est que la plus grande batterie soit capable d\u2019assurer une autonomie en mode enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectrique. Cela varie selon le fabricant et la taille de la batterie, mais en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, ce type de v\u00e9hicule peut parcourir entre 50 et 60\u00a0kilom\u00e8tres en mode enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectrique. Une fois la batterie \u00e9puis\u00e9e, le v\u00e9hicule continue de fonctionner en mode hybride. Ainsi, de nombreux VHR sont en mesure d\u2019effectuer la majeure partie du trajet sans consommer d\u2019essence. Ceux qui ont la chance d\u2019avoir une prise de courant au travail peuvent faire l\u2019aller-retour sans souci! En fin de compte, lorsqu\u2019un VHR est recharg\u00e9 r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement, le co\u00fbt d\u2019utilisation global diminue consid\u00e9rablement. Le co\u00fbt annuel du carburant pour le Hyundai\u00a0Tucson \u00e0 essence est de 1\u00a0800\u00a0$ en fonction de 20\u00a0000\u00a0km parcourus par ann\u00e9e, comparativement \u00e0 994\u00a0$ pour le Tucson hybride rechargeable. Ces chiffres en disent long.<\/p>\n<p>Un autre avantage est que les VHR se rechargent plus rapidement que les VE en raison de la taille de la batterie. Le Hyundai\u00a0Tucson hybride rechargeable poss\u00e8de une batterie de 13,8\u00a0kW\/h qui se recharge en 1,7\u00a0heure sur une prise de courant de niveau\u00a02. L\u2019inconv\u00e9nient, c\u2019est que le co\u00fbt de l\u2019entretien est le m\u00eame que celui d\u2019un mod\u00e8le non\u00a0hybride ordinaire et que le co\u00fbt de l\u2019essence s\u2019applique lorsque le VHR passe au mode hybride.<\/p>\n<p>Le principal avantage d\u2019un v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique, outre le fait qu\u2019il ne produit aucune \u00e9mission locale et qu\u2019il b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d\u2019un rabais plus important, est la performance inh\u00e9rente \u00e0 ce type de v\u00e9hicule\u00a0: la nature instantan\u00e9e du couple permet une forte acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration, de sorte qu\u2019un VE d\u00e9marre en trombe et prend de la vitesse sans effort. Et comme l\u2019hydro\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 est tr\u00e8s r\u00e9pandue en Colombie-Britannique, au Manitoba, en Ontario, au Qu\u00e9bec, \u00e0 Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador et au Yukon, l\u2019alimentation par batterie des VHR dans ces provinces est r\u00e9ellement sans \u00e9mission.<\/p>\n<p>Un autre grand avantage du VE est le co\u00fbt du \u00ab\u00a0carburant\u00a0\u00bb. Si le fonctionnement d\u2019un VHR co\u00fbte beaucoup moins cher que celui de son homologue \u00e0 essence, les VE sont, en moyenne, presque deux fois moins chers. Le freinage par r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration effectuant la majeure partie du ralentissement, les freins ordinaires ne font que tr\u00e8s peu de travail. Porsche affirme que les freins de la Taycan ne doivent \u00eatre remplac\u00e9s qu\u2019une fois tous les six ans!<\/p>\n<p>Par le pass\u00e9, l\u2019h\u00e9sitation \u00e0 investir dans un v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique s\u2019expliquait en partie par l\u2019angoisse de l\u2019autonomie. Au d\u00e9but, l\u2019autonomie limit\u00e9e et la possibilit\u00e9 restreinte de recharger le v\u00e9hicule sur la route faisaient de cette anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 un enjeu bien r\u00e9el. Cependant, l\u2019autonomie offerte par les VE d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui s\u2019est \u00e9norm\u00e9ment am\u00e9lior\u00e9e, tout comme l\u2019infrastructure offerte. M\u00eame si ce n\u2019est pas encore l\u2019\u00e9quivalent de faire le plein d\u2019essence, la diff\u00e9rence se r\u00e9duit de plus en plus. \u00c0 l\u2019avenir, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des batteries plus l\u00e9g\u00e8res et plus rapides \u00e0 charger et \u00e0 un r\u00e9seau \u00e9tendu de bornes de recharge rapide\u00a0DC, le v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique deviendra une solution de rechange conviviale aux mod\u00e8les \u00e0 l\u2019essence.<\/p>\n<p>La bonne nouvelle, c\u2019est que le choix de VHR et de VE s\u2019\u00e9largit presque quotidiennement. La gamme s\u2019\u00e9tend des petites voitures \u00e0 hayon aux v\u00e9hicules de luxe, sans oublier les v\u00e9hicules de milieu de gamme.
