M\u00eame le gros Tundra fra\u00eechement renouvel\u00e9 peut d\u00e9sormais \u00eatre command\u00e9 avec une motorisation hybride. Il y a deux ans environ, alors que la plan\u00e8te enti\u00e8re ne connaissait pas encore l\u2019existence de la COVID-19, Toyota lan\u00e7ait la toute premi\u00e8re Corolla Hybride nord-am\u00e9ricaine. En effet, le mod\u00e8le existait d\u00e9j\u00e0 ailleurs dans le monde, mais depuis l\u2019ann\u00e9e-mod\u00e8le 2020, la voiture la plus vendue de l\u2019histoire de la marque est disponible avec une motorisation mi-essence mi-\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>J\u2019avais d\u2019ailleurs pu d\u00e9couvrir comment se comportait la Corolla la plus \u00e9conome \u00e0 la pompe \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque. Deux ans et trois ou quatre vagues de cette pand\u00e9mie plus tard, j\u2019ai repris le volant de cette berline dont la mission premi\u00e8re est de consommer le moins d\u2019essence possible. La plus frugale de la gamme se veut encore un exemple de discr\u00e9tion dans la circulation lourde. Comme pr\u00e9vu, les \u00e9cussons Toyota arborent le bleu \u00ab hybride \u00bb tout comme la mention \u00ab HYBRID \u00bb sur le coffre, mais c\u2019est \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s tout. Les minuscules jantes de 15 pouces sont partag\u00e9es avec la Prius, tandis que le pare-chocs arri\u00e8re ne dissimule toujours pas l\u2019embout d\u2019\u00e9chappement du c\u00f4t\u00e9 droit. Franchement, le constructeur peut faire mieux \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard, car cette tuyauterie semble avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9e \u00e0 la derni\u00e8re minute. Il ne s\u2019agit pas d\u2019une faute incroyable, mais disons que pour une voiture \u00ab \u00e9colo \u00bb, ce pot d\u2019\u00e9chappement ne devrait pas \u00eatre visible.<\/p>\n<h3>S\u00e9curit\u00e9 : 7\/10<\/h3>\n<p>En 2021, Toyota Canada a greff\u00e9 le dispositif Android Auto au syst\u00e8me d\u2019infodivertissement de la Corolla Hybride, permettant \u00e0 plus d\u2019utilisateurs \u2013 pas seulement les propri\u00e9taires de t\u00e9l\u00e9phones Apple \u2013 de se connecter \u00e0 leur v\u00e9hicule. On pense notamment \u00e0 l\u2019alerte de franchissement de ligne avec assistance \u00e0 la direction et d\u00e9tection du bord de la route, les feux de route automatiques, le syst\u00e8me pr\u00e9collision avec d\u00e9tection des pi\u00e9tons et des bicyclettes, l\u2019assistance au suivi de voie et le r\u00e9gulateur de vitesse dynamique \u00e0 radar \u00e0 pleine vitesse.<\/p>\n<h3>Habitabilit\u00e9 : 8\/10<\/h3>\n<p>M\u00eame son de cloche \u00e0 ce chapitre : la Corolla Hybride ne p\u00e9nalise aucunement ses occupants. Pas de bosse irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re dans le coffre ou de plancher sur\u00e9lev\u00e9 caus\u00e9 par la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019une batterie! Les habitu\u00e9s du mod\u00e8le n\u2019y verront que du feu. La Corolla \u2013 hybride ou non \u2013 se situe dans la bonne moyenne du segment pour son espace int\u00e9rieur. Le chroniqueur s\u00e9v\u00e8re pourrait se plaindre de l\u2019absence d\u2019une Corolla Hatchback hybride dans l\u2019alignement, mais ceci sera bient\u00f4t corrig\u00e9 avec l\u2019arriv\u00e9e probable (Toyota n\u2019a pas encore confirm\u00e9 son ajout \u00e0 la gamme, mais \u00e7a ne devrait tarder) d\u2019une livr\u00e9e hybride du Corolla Cross 2022. En revanche, les nombreux petits boutons (autour de l\u2019\u00e9cran tactile ou m\u00eame pour les ajustements de la climatisation) semblent allergiques aux gants la saison froide venue. L\u2019autre \u00e9l\u00e9ment qui m\u2019agace, c\u2019est la position de ce pav\u00e9 de recharge par induction. En effet, il est dissimul\u00e9 loin devant le levier de la bo\u00eete de vitesses et avec la planche de bord noire et l\u2019\u00e9cran de mon appareil intelligent noir, disons qu\u2019on oublie rapidement qu\u2019un t\u00e9l\u00e9phone se trouve \u00e0 cet endroit.<\/p>\n<h3>Confort : 8\/10<\/h3>\n<p>De nos jours, les jantes surdimensionn\u00e9es sont \u00e0 la mode. Dans le cas qui nous int\u00e9resse, la Corolla Hybride se contente de ces petits sabots de 15 pouces, \u00e9quip\u00e9s d\u2019enjoliveurs pour maximiser l\u2019a\u00e9rodynamisme de la voiture. R\u00e9sultat : les pneus \u00e0 flanc plus g\u00e9n\u00e9reux absorbent beaucoup mieux les nids-de-poule de la grande r\u00e9gion de Montr\u00e9al. D\u2019ailleurs, je dois f\u00e9liciter les ing\u00e9nieurs affect\u00e9s au confort des si\u00e8ges, car ceux-ci sont moelleux \u00e0 souhait, tout comme la suspension multibras arri\u00e8re qui am\u00e9liore non seulement la tenue de cap, mais \u00e9galement le confort g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Un adepte de l\u2019hypermiling r\u00e9ussira certainement \u00e0 flirter avec les 3,5 litres aux 100 km, mais j\u2019ai pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 emprunter la voie du conducteur sans histoire qui recherche une voiture \u00e9-co-no-mi-que!<\/p>\n<p>La bonne nouvelle, c\u2019est que la transition essence-\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 est tr\u00e8s subtile depuis quelques ann\u00e9es et la Corolla Hybride fait partie de cette nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de v\u00e9hicules hybrides Toyota. Comme en 2019, j\u2019ai not\u00e9 une direction tr\u00e8s l\u00e9g\u00e8re et d\u00e9connect\u00e9e du bitume. La bo\u00eete de vitesses \u00e0 variation continue, quant \u00e0 elle, fait rapidement escalader le r\u00e9gime moteur lorsque le pied droit en demande un peu trop. Bref, m\u00eame en mode PWR (pour Power), la Corolla Hybride suscite autant de passion qu\u2019un verre d\u2019eau. Au risque de me r\u00e9p\u00e9ter, la mission de cette Corolla \u00e9lectrifi\u00e9e est bien diff\u00e9rente du coup\u00e9 GR 86.<\/p>\n<h3>Puissance : 5\/10<\/h3>\n<p>Heureusement, l\u2019ajout du bloc de batteries n\u2019a pas une grosse incidence sur le poids de la voiture, car 121 chevaux pour mouvoir un peu moins de 1 400 kg, c\u2019est tr\u00e8s peu! Le 4-cylindres \u00e0 cycle Atkinson de 1,8-litre de cylindr\u00e9e travaille bien avec les deux moteurs-g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs \u00e9lectriques, surtout en ville o\u00f9 le couple instantan\u00e9 de cette paire \u00e9lectrique est appr\u00e9ci\u00e9, m\u00eame sur l\u2019autoroute o\u00f9 je me suis amus\u00e9 un tantinet en mode PWR gr\u00e2ce justement \u00e0 cette injection de couple instantan\u00e9. Toutefois, je recommande tout de m\u00eame de pr\u00e9voir les man\u0153uvres de d\u00e9passements, car les reprises ne sont pas celles d\u2019une sportive.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00c9conomie de carburant : 9\/10<\/h3>\n<p>Mon r\u00e9sultat final : 4,7 L\/100 km. Cet ensemble n\u2019est pas n\u00e9cessaire pour profiter de la Corolla Hybride, mais tout de m\u00eame, ces am\u00e9liorations font de cette vulgaire Corolla un endroit plus agr\u00e9able pour les balades prolong\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<h3>Valeur : 8\/10<\/h3>\n<p>La Corolla Hybride se vend 470 $ plus chers qu\u2019en 2019 et rien n\u2019indique que l\u2019engouement pour cette berline \u00ab \u00e9colo \u00bb ne va s\u2019estomper. \u00c0 un prix de d\u00e9part de 25 190 $ (ou 27 260 $ avec l\u2019ensemble Premium), la Corolla Hybride se veut une excellente option pour les automobilistes qui recherchent une berline qui pr\u00e9f\u00e8re espacer ses visites \u00e0 la station-service. En effet, Toyota Canada affirme qu\u2019en 2021, il s\u2019est vendu quatre fois plus de Corolla Hybrides que de Prius, les consommateurs qui se tournent de plus en plus vers la Prius Prime \u00e0 motorisation hybride rechargeable.
