Les vents violents, les routes gel\u00e9es, les trottoirs recouverts de neige et la rotation sans fin des couches de base qui orientent nos choix vestimentaires semblent tout autant caract\u00e9riser l\u2019identit\u00e9 canadienne que le hockey, Tim Hortons et Justin Bieber.  <\/p>\n<p>Mais du point de vue d\u2019un conducteur, la saison hivernale n\u2019apporte pas seulement un sentiment de nostalgie nordique\u202f: elle annonce des conditions de conduite particuli\u00e8rement dangereuses. Impossible de le nier, l\u2019hiver canadien ne convient pas aux \u00e2mes sensibles. Il ne convient pas non plus \u00e0 une voiture dont la conception et le groupe motopropulseur ne sont pas \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve de l\u2019hiver. Ainsi, alors que les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques gagnent en popularit\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s des Canadiens, une question commune se pose\u202f: les VE sont-ils vraiment con\u00e7us pour affronter l\u2019hiver au Canada? <\/p>\n<p>Cela fait des d\u00e9cennies que Ford met sur le march\u00e9 des v\u00e9hicules tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ci\u00e9s plus que capables de faire face aux conditions rigoureuses des hivers canadiens, et ce dans le souci de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience et de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des utilisateurs. Qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse du v\u00e9hicule hybride rechargeable (VHR) Ford\u202fEscape, du futur camion F-150\u202fLightning \u00e9lectrique, sans oublier la Ford\u202fMustang\u202fMach-E (un SUV \u00e9lectrique portant le nom embl\u00e9matique de la Mustang), la conduite en hiver reste au premier plan du processus de recherche et de d\u00e9veloppement des VE Ford. <\/p>\n<p>Afin de mettre sa Mustang\u202fMach-E \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve, Ford se rend au Smithers Winter Test Center, situ\u00e9 dans la P\u00e9ninsule sup\u00e9rieure du Michigan. Le centre d\u2019essai permet \u00e0 Ford de proc\u00e9der \u00e0 des \u00e9valuations approfondies des performances des v\u00e9hicules, des pneus et des composants dans les conditions sp\u00e9cifiques au froid extr\u00eame et dans des situations routi\u00e8res dangereuses. Lorsque la production de la Mustang\u202fMach-E a commenc\u00e9, les ing\u00e9nieurs de Ford ont rapidement compris l\u2019importance d\u2019une configuration \u00e0 traction int\u00e9grale \u00e9lectrique et se sont appuy\u00e9s sur une collaboration pratique entre le groupe motopropulseur, l\u2019\u00e9quipe de freinage et les experts en traction de Ford. Pour la Mustang\u202fMach-E, cela donne lieu \u00e0 une traction int\u00e9grale \u00e9lectrique sp\u00e9cialement con\u00e7ue pour s\u2019adapter aux conditions changeantes, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de conditions d\u2019adh\u00e9rence \u00e9lev\u00e9es (comme sur l\u2019autoroute) ou glissantes (comme sur les routes secondaires enneig\u00e9es) qui n\u00e9cessitent une capacit\u00e9 d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration moindre et plus de contr\u00f4le et de man\u0153uvrabilit\u00e9.  <\/p>\n<p>Ce VE Ford \u00e0 traction int\u00e9grale \u00e9lectrique est donc r\u00e9gl\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 offrir une excellente traction. Il peut donc appliquer un couple ind\u00e9pendamment aux essieux avant et arri\u00e8re. Il peut envoyer jusqu\u2019\u00e0 100\u202f% du couple \u00e0 l\u2019un ou l\u2019autre des essieux \u00e0 tout moment, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la limite de couple\/puissance de cet essieu. Lorsque le syst\u00e8me d\u00e9termine que les performances de la traction int\u00e9grale ne seront probablement pas n\u00e9cessaires, il entre dans un mode d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 qui \u00e9quilibre la r\u00e9partition du couple de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 utiliser le moins d\u2019\u00e9nergie possible.
