The Next Best for Ford: Connectivity

Ford BlueCruise

BlueCruise

Many of us dream of having a little help with driving on those long trips. If you own a 2021 Ford F-150 or Mustang Mach-E or a 2022 Ford F-150, F-150 Lightning, Expedition or Ford Mustang Mach-E, that dream can be a reality; at least on certain highways.

Available on these models is Ford BlueCruise, a hands-free highway driving feature that builds upon available Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering and Speed Sign Recognition.* It allows the driver to operate their vehicle hands-free on pre-qualified sections of divided highway Ford calls Hands-Free Blue Zones – more than 200,000 km across North American divided highways that Ford engineers pre-verified through detailed GPS maps of of the country.

Ford BlueCruise uses advanced camera and radar-sensing technologies along with the available Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering, and Speed Sign Recognition features found in the available Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 driver assist package^. It also uses an advanced infrared driver-facing camera that will track eye gaze and head position to ensure drivers are paying attention to the road.

BlueCruise allows for hands-free driving; When activated, a mode indicator located within the display cluster will show a graphic of a steering wheel with the text “Hands-Free” with blue background hue when it’s safe to remove your hands from the steering wheel, then indicate when you need to put your hands back on the steering wheel to take control. This can help provide a better overall experience. And after more than 800,000 km of development testing, Ford will be employing BlueCruise across more of its vehicles in the near future.

And Ford Power-Up Software Updates † also allows Ford to update the system, seamlessly and without the need for equipment upgrades or a dealer visit, it will only get better.
