On October 1, ElectraMeccanica, the British Columbia-based EV maker, revealed that their flagship SOLO EV has officially been selected as the exclusive vehicle for a celebrity race taking place on July 1, at the inaugural Canadian E-Fest in Vancouver, BC. The Canadian E-Fest will take place from June 30 to July 2 next year, and promises to be an exciting weekend of education and entertainment centered around the promotion of electric mobility and the fight against climate change in Canada and around the world.
The festival arrives ahead of the 2022 Vancouver E-Prix, an “all-electric international street-racing series culminating in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship on July 2.
ElectraMeccanica Solo EV
12 SOLO EV’s will hit the Formula E-Prix circuit during the celebrity race, which promises to include a number of well-known TV personalities, actors, and professional athletes. For those unfamiliar, the ElectraMeccanica’s SOLO EV is an all-electric, single-occupant, three-wheeled vehicle.
Speaking to the news, Kevin Pavlov, CEO of Electrameccanica, shared “Our participation as the exclusive vehicle for the celebrity race at the Canadian E-Fest is a testament to the fun and unique driving experience that our flagship SOLO EV provides. Formula E is the premier zero-emissions racing series globally and our partnership through the Canadian E-Fest —which is just a short distance from our headquarters in Vancouver, Canada— is an excellent way to support this purpose-driven, global initiative towards vehicle electrification.”
Production on the ElectraMeccanica SOLO EV began last year, and customer deliveries of the vehicle are finally set to begin soon.
