Earlier this week, Winnebago revealed an exciting new concept at the Florida RV Super Show in Tampa – a brand new, all-electric RV that seems to be a much more advanced and capable version of their 2018 attempt.
The e-RV, which was built by Winnebago’s Advanced Technology Group (ATG), is “a fully functional, all-electric motorhome that redefines efficiency, comfort, and functionality.” Built on the Ford Transit Platform, the e-RV is also fitted with “an advanced electrical power system from that powers the drivetrain, vehicle controls, and living quarters.”
According to Winnebago, the e-RV offers a 86 kWh battery with just over 200 km of range and a charge time of 45 minutes via a DC fast charger. These specifications are important, as Winnebago reportedly polled RV owners’ to determine their daily drive preferences, which averaged at about 321 km.
In terms of features, the e-RV offers a range of high-end galley amenities including a modern refrigerator, matte black sink fixtures, contemporary bathroom fixtures, and slide-out induction cooktop that heats up faster than gas stoves. Finishes selected for the e-RV, including recycled cork-rubber flooring, are notably eco-friendly and sustainable, as well.
Understandably, Winnebago is incredibly excited about its latest concept. “This is an exciting time for Winnebago Industries and the outdoor lifestyle industry as a whole,” says Michael Happe, Winnebago Ind. president and CEO. “We are proud to continue our innovation legacy with the reveal of the e-RV concept vehicle.”
