Almost 6,400 models are affected in the recall, which hasn’t yet been issued by Transport Canada. Jaguar already has a fix in the form of a software update, which much be done at a dealership. The software will monitor the batteries and, if needed, will limit charging and alert the driver to a fire risk and direct them to a dealership for inspection.

If needed, the British automaker will replace the module for free.

Documents in the recall filing say that Jaguar has received eight reports of vehicle fires in the US from 2019, with no injuries or deaths reported.
