Canadians already have access to the Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 compact SUV, and now we’ll be getting a less expensive version in the fall: the EQB 250.
Unlike the 350, this version will be front-drive only, and start with a base price of $59,900. Falling under the $60k mark, it should qualify for federal EV incentives of up to $5,000, as well as provincial incentives, though it hasn’t been confirmed as of yet. The EQB 350 starts at $75,700.
The EQB 250 has a 70.5 kWh battery that gives it a range of 394 kilometres, while the front motor offers 188 hp and 284 lb.-ft. of torque. Standard features include a 10.25″ digital instrument cluster and an additional 10.25″ multimedia touchscreen with voice control and MBUX system, ambient lighting and a slew of driver aid features, among others. It comes standard with two rows of seating, but an optional third (tiny) row offers room for seven passengers.
