With a cheeky, innuendo-filled TV spot during Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, Ram revealed its production-ready, all-electric 1500 REV pickup. In case you’re interested in owning one, the company has also opened what it calls the Insider+ Contest for a vaguely described chance at an early reservation of a pre-order.
But if you’re looking for specs and details, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Ram describes its ‘signature lighting’ and ‘capability without compromise’, but offers no details on power, battery size, range or other specifics. It does, however, note that the 1500 REV will offer a V2H Home Energy Charging feature, capable of sending its battery power to an owner’s home in case of emergency. And, the truck has a frunk.
Compared with the Ram Revolution concept that debuted last month, the 1500 REV looks more like a normal, everyday pickup truck. The split between the cab and bed seems to indicate this won’t have the Revolution’s drop-down midgate, and certainly no third-row of seats. The Ram 1500 REV is set for production later next year.
