It’s no secret that Tesla is a dominating and influential force in the automotive industry — but where does it rank for customer satisfaction? According to a report from Zutobi, a driver education resource, Tesla has secured the number one spot.
To arrive at these results, Zutobi created a list of top-selling cars from across Europe and North America. The report tracked four different car owner rating reports, including Parker, HonestJohn, Autotrader, and Edmunds in an effort to determine the most satisfied customers in the entire auto industry. Notably, any cars without data from at least three of the car owner rating report sites were removed from the list.

Called ‘The Global Happy Motorist Index’, the report revealed that Tesla’s Model 3 scores the highest. “Tesla has scored the highest average ratings from all the brands on our list, with a 4.53 average rating,” the report reads. “Tesla’s Model 3 takes the top spot for the highest-rated car on our list, scoring an average rating of 4.53 across the four publications we looked at. It’s clear then why the Model 3 is Tesla’s top-selling car and one of the world’s best electric cars right now.”
Tesla was followed by Land Rover’s score of 4.30 (out of 5), Mazda’s score of 4.3, Peugeot’s score of 4.27, and BMW’s score of 4.25. The top 10 vehicles with the best ratings for owners satisfaction were as follows:
1. Tesla Model 3
2. Volvo XC40
3. Ford Puma
4. Peugeot 208
5. Volkswagen Polo
6. Land Rover Discovery
7. Peugeot 3008
8. Toyota Corolla
9. Mazda CX-5
10. BMW 3 Series
The report also identified the brands with the lowest owner ratings, which included:
1. Perodua (from Malaysia) – Average Rating of 2.80
2. Mercedes-Benz – Average Rating of 3.75
3. Nissan – Average Rating of 3.76
