VinFast just celebrated the delivery of the first VF 8, the highly-anticipated, sophisticated e-SUV from the all-electric Vietnamese automaker. Over the weekend, the brand delivered 100 VF 8 models at its manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, to early reservation holders.
The event was live-streamed globally with the theme “The Future is Now”, and marked a historic milestone, as the VF 8 is Vietnam’s first global smart electric car.

For those unfamiliar, the VinFast VF 8 is an electric SUV with two versions (Eco and Plus) and a five-seat configuration. The e-SUV is equipped with ADAS, a series of advanced automated driving features that includes Highway Assist, Automated Lane Changing Assist, and more, as well as a “Smart Services” package which allows drivers to interact with the vehicle through voice, remote vehicle control. Drivers will be able to unlock a variety of exciting, user-experience features via the VinFast app.
The VF 8 Eco version is equipped with a 260 kW motor reaching a maximum torque of 369 lb-ft with a range of up to 450 km after each full charge (WLTP). The VF 8 Plus version, on the other hand, is equipped with a 300 kW motor reaching a maximum torque of 457 lb-ft with a range of up to 399 km per each full charge (WLTP).

“Today’s event marks a turning point for Vietnam’s auto industry. In this historic moment, we are extremely happy to deliver the first batch of VF 8 all-electric vehicles to our pioneering customers in Vietnam,” shared Madam Le Thi Thu Thuy – Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup and Global CEO of VinFast at the event. “And very soon, the enthusiasm will be realized by more than 65,000 pioneering customers worldwide.”
Following this initial release, VinFast plans to export approximately 5,000 VF 8s across the US, Canada, and Europe as early as December.
