In a surprise announcement, Cadillac has revealed an all-electric SUV it says will be the entry point to its EV lineup – the Optiq.
The only other detail we have now is the fact it will be ready for the 2025 model year; there is no information on power, range, batteries or any tech specs. Cadillac does say, however, that its ‘spirited driving dynamics are designed to appeal to global luxury customers.’

The Optiq follows the design language of Cadillac’s other EVs, which include the Lyriq, Escalade IQ and Celestiq – as well as the ‘IQ’ naming convention.
The compact SUV will slot in under the Lyriq, which starts at $69,830 here in Canada. The automaker says we’ll have to wait until next year for further information, such as pricing and features.
